March for Babies

SOOooo.... this last weekend was the March for babies march up in Tacoma. Mandy, from Harper's Happenings, gathered up our blog walking team! It was so much fun. I was a bit sore on Sunday... but, Monday not so bad. :) Please enjoy this photo explosion:

{From left to right: michelle and lulu, amanda and ellie, andrea and griffin, me and harper, my mama, fiona and elle, amanda and reese, tessa, melissa and rowan and stella, chelsey, amy, jill and corbin.}

Our group raised over $2400! Next year we will raise more! While not everyone that raised the money could make it... here are the lovely people that raised all that money for little babies:

Me the paper mama, Melissa from hi, baby, Andrea from peanut butter handprint, Tessa from life according to lennox, michelle and justin, jill from chronicles of corbin, amanda from raising reese, amanda from pretty little life, susan, erika from bird e studios, and fiona from letters to littles.

My baby girl.

When you have a baby things change. Fast. I didn't immediately accept these changes when Ruari was first born... but, I do more and more each day. I accept (and truly enjoy) my role as her mother and what it takes to help her grow into a beautiful and lovely person.

As parents we really can feel pushed to do this and do that to make our kids #1 and to grow up to be child prodigy's or young geniuses. I can only imagine the push is even greater these days with the online world. I don't know about you... but, at almost every point during the day I am somehow connected to technology.

So, here I am... concerned that I'm not doing enough to help my baby progress to the next stages in her life... Do I read to her enough? Do we go for enough walks? Do I give her enough attention? Is she getting enough healthy food? All these questions have run through my head more than once.

Even though I may not have the "correct" answers to the above questions... I know the best thing I can do to help Ruari achieve is to give her my love. To do this I need to take care of me (mind, body, and soul). Enjoy the moment I'm in. Cuddle. Kisses. Be silly. Take breaks when I need them.

I just need to love my baby. And, I do.

Dog Park

I've been trying to walk at least every week day... I managed 4 walks last week and 2 this week... I'd like to do more like 5 a week. At least I'm getting up and moving! :D

So, since it wasn't a totally rainy day we went for a walk to the dog park. It's not too fun to go down there is it's been raining... lots of mud and not very many dogs. We never go in the fenced off area... we just observe. Angus is a little too tiny to join in the crazy dog "fun". They'd totally squish him.

He was so nervous of the other crazy dogs that he actually sat up in the stroller with Ruari. He's scared of her too. :D But, apparently the dogs we're much scarier.

Ruari never tried to grab him... it was odd! BUT, she did giggle a ton while he walked all over her. :)

I've never taken any photos in the fog. It was kind of fun.

Wow... it's Friday already? Happy Friday everyone!
