Wordless{ish} Wednesday: My Grandpa's Funeral.

{Last week my family and I celebrated my grandpa's life. He passed away a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't a shock... he's been sick for some time. He was a veteran of World War II... so, it was a veterans funeral... I've never been to one. It was actually very beautiful. They did the 3 salute shot, the flag folding, and the very sweet/sad funeral trumpet song for him.}

{The trumpet song was so beautiful I immediately started crying. Not just for my grandpa and his kids (my uncles and mom), but for all the soldiers that lose their lives in battle... I spotted a few young women in the cemetery with their young children... I'm tearing up right now just thinking of losing your husband so young. I couldn't even imagine.}

{I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to take photos... but, then I realized this was a moment to remember. My great uncles (my grandpa's 3 brother's) aren't together very often... at all. And, we barely get to see them. I know my future generations will appreciate these photos... just as I appreciate the photos my family took before I was born so I could see my past family!}

{This cemetery was gorgeous! Wildlife everywhere... so well kept and loved. AND, my baby butt, Ruari, was there. :D She wont remember her grandpa... but, she'll have the photos to see she went to his funeral to celebrate is life.}

{And, one more thing... my brother carried my pretty purse/diaper bag the entire time we were there! That's like 2 hours! What a good brother. I'm sure he'll appreciate the photos I took of him. ;D}

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Farmer's Market

{We wandered over to the Beaverton Farmer's Market.... which is so huge and awesome! One of the main reasons we went was to check out the local beef and chicken farmers. Were trying to switch over to hormone/antibiotic free range raised animals... and local! As much as I love fuzzy sweet animals... I do love to eat them. And, I want them to be treated well and taken care... before I eat them. :) There were actually a couple of farmer's there selling their meats that will be offering a whole butchered cow in the near future. We're thinking of splitting a cow with a couple of friends... we have a nice large freezer.... now breastmilk free... to store it in. ;D It was holding my massive collection of pumped milk... not anymore. ;D Happy Wednesday!}

Father's Day 2011

{“Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad.”}

Soooo.... can you guess which one of us wasn't very happy about the family photo above? ;D Mike's 2nd father's day was a lovely relaxing one. We spent the day out at my uncles house where I managed to eat 5 gallons of jalapeno popper dip that Mike made... not even joking... it was probably 5 pounds. I'll have to share the recipe... so freakin' yummy. I wish I had some right now... enough about that yummy dip... lets talk about my Living Healthy!

A quick update on my 30 Day Shred (which is more like my Every Day Shred since I've been doing it since the beginning of May. :D). I did actually put myself on a scale and found out I lost 5 pounds. BUT, it's not a weight loss thing for me. It's seriously how my clothes are fitting. And, they are fitting better! I'm so much more comfortable in my old clothes! Yay!

I've just moved onto Level 3 of the shred! Yes... it took me that long to get to it! I actually have to modify the workouts so I'm not jumping on my bad knees... Even though level 3 is WAY more difficult... I think I like it best of all the other levels! Maybe because it seems like it goes by faster? Hmmm... Ok, that's my update! Keeping in touch through email.

Email is so very important in my life. I use and check it each and every day. It helped me announce to my friends and Mike when I found out I was pregnant with Ruari... and it has given me the help and opportunity to run a tiny business from my home. But, more important than those... it allows me to create and maintain important relationships in my life!

One of those important relationships that I have through email... is keeping in touch and up to date with my sister, Nicole. My sister's fiance is from New Zealand... so, that's where they are right now. So, until they move to the states... our relationship is mostly through email. Email lets my sis and I keep in contact. If I have a quick question for her... email... if I have something important to tell her... email... keeping up to date on our lives... email.

Email is also the perfect way my sister can keep up with how fast Ruari is growing... I wish that she could be here to actually experience her milestones and talking and meltdowns (;D)... but, she can't. So, email it is! Even though I'm not always the best at responding as soon as I can... I always do eventually.

I say it ALL the time... I really don't know what I'd do with myself if I didn't have email! My email account is VITAL for keeping my relationships going, Seriously! Especially all the bloggers I've been meeting. Email! Most of my blogger friendships live and blossom through email. Love it. I mean... do you really think you could live without it? I'm sure I could... but, I don't want to. How many times do I check my email everyday? Well... is gabillion magillion thousand times a number? Probably. ;)

I love this sweet email inspired clip from Yahoo!:
