Selfie Saturday: Arm's length

I chose the above photo for my Selfie Saturday: Arm's Length shot. So, trying to get an arms length shot with a 50mm lens on is a little challenging! But, I don't want to take my lens off. I love it so much. By the way... to keep my camera "safe" and "waterproof" from the snow... I tied it up in a plastic grocery bag and cut a hole out for the lens to poke through. :) That's how I took these photos of Ruari too.

I ended up taking about 30 photos of myself at arm's length. My other faves are below:

Challenging myself...

I've decided to participate in quite a few photo challenges for the year. I'm doing 52 weeks of me.. that means at least once a week I will turn the camera around and photograph myself for a year... and, I'm also taking at least one photo everyday for one year. My 365 challenge. I want to improve my photography and the only way I'm going to do that is by taking photos!

Selfie Saturday: Full body shot. I really like how Elena discusses how to stand... etc. I mean really: I NEVER stand like this. :D But, I do like the effect. Are any of you participating and learning?

Photo Challenges ... I've missed you!

With that guy copying my blog posts and the virus I got on my computer last week... I've barely entered any photo challenges! I feel like I'm missing something! So, time to get my photo challenge fix!

New photo challenge I'm excited about: SELFIE Saturdays with the very talented Elena. So, I'm late with this first self portrait.... but, I wanted to join up. Week one is all about: Our Dream Self

Well... as a mom it can be hard to actually get a shower or even wear make up. I'm freshly showered and have some mascara on today. It makes me feel good. :) The second weeks theme is "full body shot". This is where my "dream self" gets a little difficult... I want to be in shape. I'm working towards it... but, it's been hard. I'll think of this next weeks shot as my "before" photo. :D I know I'm not overweight... but, I just want to be healthy and toned.

AND: Some of you have been asking... YES! My "new" camera lens is on it's way from Ebay! Yay! I had to wait to gather up all my birthday money before I purchased. I'm so ready and can't wait to get my lens! Yay!
